Spinet

Spinet made by the instrument maker C.F. Speer, who was paid regularly for tuning the royal children’s instruments. It belonged to Frederik V’s daughter, Princess Louise. A Spinet belongs to the cembalofamily. Keyboardlike instruments, such as this one, were very popular from the 16th-18th century. The usually appear a lot smaller than a modern piano, and are also markedly less velocity sensitive as well.
