Juliane Marie, bust
Bust of Queen Juliane Marie, made at the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Manufactory, which was eagerly supported by the Queen. The bust was executed in biscuit ware by Luplau, 1781, possibly after a model by C.F. Stanley.
Queen Juliane Marie of Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel was married to Frederik V in 1752, after the death sudden death of his first Queen Louise. Among other she was a key political actor in the power quarrels concerning the insanity of Christian VII. Moreover she was an adamant supporter of the newly established Royal Porcelain Factory, today known simply as Royal Copenhagen.
