Church Hall

During the years around 1600, Christian IV commissioned a new castle chapel at Koldinghus, situated in the castle’s north-west corner. Above it, he had the Great Hall and the Giants’ Tower built. The four walls are all that remains of the former splendour of the room. In the restoration project, the architects used lighting to suggest the original architecture. The nave is indicated by three large, star-shaped chandeliers, and the ‘street lamps’ hint at the brick-built columns that supported the dome and gallery.

Location in the castle

The Church Hall is located on the ground floor in the castle’s north-west corner, with direct access from the Castle Courtyard. On the floors above it are the Great Hall and the Giants’ Tower.

Capacity

Round 8-person tables for 80 persons max.
Long tables across the hall for 112 persons max.
Theatre-style rows of chairs, 130 persons max.
Technical equipment
Free Wi-Fi.
You can borrow a flip-over chart, a projector and a large projection screen. Please bring your own laptop.
You can rent a sound system. Price: DKK 1,000 plus VAT.

Practical information

You can request a lectern and a coat rack free of charge. Toilets are found on the second floor in the northwest corner. An accessible toilet is found on the bottom floor of the east wing.

Christian III’s Chapel

In the restoration project, Christian III’s Chapel was recreated as a two-storey room and converted into an auditorium. You can rent Christian III’s Chapel for conferences, seminars, lectures, meetings, product presentations and so forth. Location in the castle Christian III’s Chapel has direct access to the Castle Courtyard. Via the west wing it has access to the south wing. Capacity 70 persons Technical equipment Access to projection screen, projector, sound system and Wi-Fi. If necessary, you can borrow a laptop. Practical information There is a projection screen and a lectern in the room. The room can be blacked out, there is access to a wardrobe, and you can have tables set up to arrange presentation materials. Wheelchair users: during the museum’s opening hours, from 10.00 to 17.00, the chapel is used as a passage for wheelchair users. Thus, museum-goers may pass through the room during your event. The Flora Danica Room

The Flora Danica Room is a cosy room with a Louis Seize interior. Location in the castle The Flora Danica Room is located on the second floor in the west wing in extension of the Library Hall. Capacity The room has an oval table that seats 12. Technical equipment The Flora Danica Room is equipped with a computer and a large screen and has access to Wi-Fi. Practical information A coat rack can be set up in the room at no charge. Food and drink is allowed in the room. The meeting room has good disability access. Frederik IV’s Hall

We are now offering the use of our Frederik IV’s Hall at a favourable price. The hall seats 35 to 150 persons and can be made bigger or smaller, depending on your needs. The room has a rustic and authentic atmosphere and direct access to the Castle Courtyard. You can include the courtyard in your event and use it as a place where the guests can stretch their legs and get a breath of fresh air. The hall was originally used for art exhibitions. It is a large, open space with white walls on the ground floor in the castle’s west wing. Technical equipment You can borrow a projector, a flip-over chart, a small projection screen and an overhead projector. Please bring your own laptop. You can rent a sound system.
