Christian V’s carousel

In connection with the temporary exhibition ‘Christian V – King, warrior and anointed by God’ this summer you can try one of Christian V’s favourite pastimes. Christian V loved riding and sports and held many ‘carousels’, which are a mix of dressage and ‘ring tilting’, where riders try to catch a hanging ring at the tip of their lance.

In the Castle Courtyard we have set up a small carousel where you can try your skill at controlling your ‘horse’ with one hand while using your other hand to strike the target with your ‘lance’.
